Exemplary Culinary Scholar Wins Award

 

Urmston Masonic Hall catering Chef, Mark Rainsford, hosted a celebratory lunch in honour of his apprentice commis chef Curtis Fisher, who recently won the Bolton local authority award for Student of the Year. Curtis, who was competing against another 149 students for the accolade, had already won Student of the Month for February this year.

Simon Foster, Director of Alternative Curriculum Services, who oversaw Curtis’s work experience directive in conjunction with Marks with Splendour, said he had good hopes for Curtis due to his positive attitudes and was extremely pleased and delighted at his student’s achievements, and considered it an honour to present him with his certificate.

Curtis will now be assisting Mark in the masonic hall kitchen area on a full time basis whilst still continuing to attend his 3 year college course at Bolton College.
